Elisabeth Settimi

President, Char Crust

Elisabeth “Lis” Settimi, Kellogg '98, has had a 25+ year career in business with a focus on marketing, sales, and general management in consumer products and services for brands such as Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Bridgestone Tires, Zingerman’s Ann Arbor, Brita Water Filtration, Kingsford Charcoal and Peet’s Coffee.

While living in San Francisco, Lis discovered The Bar Method fitness studio and fell in love with the Method’s results and how it empowers women. She became the Chicagoland franchisee and brought The Bar Method to Chicago in 2007, at the forefront of the boutique fitness trend. After growing the Bar Method to one of the top fitness brands in Chicagoland and running the business for 11+ years, Lis exited The Bar Method business.

In July 2020, just four months into Covid, Lis acquired the longstanding Chicago dry-rub seasoning company Char Crust due to its devoted following of home cooks and professional chefs.

Char Crust is loved for its superior flavor and the way it perfectly crusts around meats and fish - Seals in the Juices® - so every bite is flavorful and juicy, every time. She is now on a mission to show the world how Char Crust transforms meat occasions and build Char Crust into a global brand.

In her free time, Lis volunteers at Divine Mercy Parish Winnetka, works with students in the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and travels with her husband and two sons.
