Michael Tobey acquired the Hose Monster Company through a traditional search fund in 2019 and exited to a private equity–backed strategic buyer in 2024. Within the first six months of operating Hose Monster, he implemented EOS Traction, which provided essential structure and a clear vision for the company. A 2012 graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Michael previously worked as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs and RBC Capital Markets before entering the search fund arena. Following his exit, he now invests in both traditional and self-funded searches while pursuing his next acquisition.
