Raam Jani is the Business Group leader at BakerHostetler’s Chicago office. With more than 20 years at national law firms, he has represented private equity funds in middle-market acquisitions and sales and provided general counsel and capital-raising services to private businesses and emerging companies across industries.

Jani has extensive experience at the intersection of private equity and entrepreneurship, advising on search fund, independent sponsor, and ETA transactions nationwide. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Merrill Lynch, bringing a pragmatic perspective to his work as a transactional lawyer. A frequent speaker at top business schools, including Chicago Booth, Northwestern Kellogg, and Columbia, he holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a BBA in finance and business economics from the University of Notre Dame.
